This one has everything: Great graphics, ingenious evolution concept, unique board movement, and unique/fluid bonus structure. They all put this board on the top of the list
I think the board has great potential, but the borders need better delineation. If you make a few tweaks to colors so that country and continent borders are easier to read, I think it'll become a legend.
I like the board, the gameplay, and the modifiers/fortifies for castles. But I have 1 gripe: The lines between the countries are practically invisible when the player is black, maybe it should be removed as a color choice.
I like this board. The low unit counts/attacks-per-turn make for great strategizing, while the attack modifiers allow you to make some brave moves to cut off an opponent.
Being born and raised Chicagoan gives this board a special place in my heart. I love hoardes style boards, although I'm not very good at them. Speakeasy jump points give a great twist on the standard hoardes style, especially on a map that would otherwise feel like it has chokepoints at the bridges.
I like the way the border modifiers give advantage to unidirectional travel, but the ability to attack up the helix adds some flavor. I'm a fan of the map...and when I finally win one, I'm sure I'll like it more.
Two words: stalemates and luck.
This game can run really long/become a stalemate depending on where the inter-opponent borders end up.
Starting position plays a huge role in whether you make it to that stalemate.
Also, I'm not a huge fan of the graphics. I think with some dressing up and a few extra borders, I think this could be a good map.
Great gameplay, and much better than crossword game. There are chokepoints, but the difficulty in crossing the board quickly to strike at an ever-growing opponent makes this one a great game.
